 Recipe for Chicken Changezi:

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 teaspoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)

  • Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate it overnight for better flavors.

  2. Heat ghee or oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add the tomato puree to the pan and cook for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

  4. Now, add the marinated chicken pieces to the pan and cook on medium heat until the chicken is tender and cooked through. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  5. Once the chicken is cooked, add garam masala powder and mix well.

  6. Reduce the heat to low and add fresh cream to the pan. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  7. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and remove from heat.

  8. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice. Enjoy your delicious Chicken Changezi!
